2013: Año Internacional de la Cooperación en la Esfera del Agua. El pasado día 11 de febrero de 2.013 en la Sede de la UNESCO en París (Francia), se lanzaró oficialmente el Aó Internacional de la Cooperación en la Esfera del Agua, durante un evento de alto nivel que contó con la participación de personalidades eminentes, destacados científicos, representantes de las distintas agencias de Naciones Unidas y de la juventud del mundo entero.

Official Launching Ceremony of the International Year for Water Cooperation, 2013
In December 2010 the United Nations General Assembly adopted the resolution (A/RES/65/154) declaring 2013 as the International Year of Water Cooperation. UN-Water then tasked UNESCO to be the lead agency for the Year.
UNESCO will officially launch the International Year of Water Cooperation 2013 on 11 February 2013.
This will be a high-level event, with the participation of eminent personalities, distinguished scientists, UN agencies and the youth from the world over.
The Year will be a worldwide celebration on water cooperation, aiming at raising awareness to increase cooperation on water issues and at highlighting the challenges facing water resources management in light of the increasing demand for access to water. It will also focus on major issues regarding water security for all, and the sound and effective management of transboundary waters. Among many other aims and objectives, the Year is expected to strengthen dialogue and cooperation on water issues at all levels with key stakeholders.
